•All day during circle time, we read the story book. I demonstrated the felt story “The Very Hungry Caterpillar”. That was a story of a caterpillar’s journey from hatching to transformation into a butterfly
Theo: “ I saw a caterpillar yesterday ”
Silas: “I have seen one when I went with my mummy for a walk.”
Ellie: “ Butterflies are so beautiful.”
I was wondering how children was happy to hear the felt story more than reading a story book.
Stories always fosters creativity, imagination, and curiosity in children.
For kids, felt tales offer plenty of multimodal learning opportunities. By including kids in the storytelling process, it fosters the development of narrative abilities in children, which is crucial for their development as early readers.
The most important thing I found during the felt is that it help them to grasp things faster than listening. Observation and vision will help in memorization capacity in children.
